Listening to Your Body, Finding Yourself Again
Antigym® is a method of body awareness and awakening, created in the 1970s by French physiotherapist Thérèse Bertherat. Unlike traditional forms of exercise, it does not aim for performance or muscle strengthening, but rather seeks to free the body from deep-seated tensions that have accumulated over time, often without our knowledge.
A Method to Restore Natural Balance
Through small, precise, and respectful movements, Antigym helps to:
- Release muscular stiffness and blockages
- Improve posture naturally
- Develop deep self-awareness
- Promote lasting well-being and increased vitality
Why is it Called “Anti”-gymnastics?
The provocative name does not mean “against movement,” but rather against a mechanical and forced idea of physical exercise. Antigym doesn’t impose movements on the body—it guides it with care and respect, giving space back to its spontaneous intelligence.
The Body Tells a Story
Every tension, every posture is connected to experiences, emotions, and habits. Antigym works on and through the body, allowing each person to:
- Reconnect with their bodily history
- Recover free and authentic movement
- Feel more present and whole, physically and emotionally
Who is it for?
Antigym is suitable for people of all ages who wish to:
- Improve their well-being and self-awareness
- Overcome chronic tension or postural pain
- Let go of control and judgment over their body
- Rediscover a more intimate and truthful relationship with themselves
A Path of Body Awareness
More than a technique, Antigym is a personal journey, where one learns to trust the body and let it return to its natural balance. An invitation to slow down, listen, and move through life with greater harmony.
